The Best Tuft and Needle Mattress Review of 2017

The Best Tuft and Needle Mattress Review of 2017

Tuft and Needle was founded in 2012. Their simple goal was to build a better mattress and provide a better experience for the consumer. Since their initial launch, they’ve added a matching pillow to their line and have provided superb customer service. Their team is fun, dynamic, and full of talent. The company’s unique approach to the industry is what first intrigued me to write a review of the product. But as I learned more about their product, I found myself becoming an instant fan.

Read my report to learn about this no-frills design that has the competition shaking in its boots. I’ll go over the simple yet effective construction along with who would benefit most from this product. If you’re ready to learn all about this unique design, let’s start my assessment of it.

Construction

Layers

Perfect Cloud UltraPlush Gel-Max 10-Inch Memory Foam Twin Mattress

As previously mentioned, the model  is fairly basic. But this doesn’t mean it’s not effective. The 10” design consists of two layers. The top layer is made of a triple-layer blended foam. It feels like memory foam but bounces like latex, which I appreciated. . The second layer is made up of 7” of high density support foam, a standard thickness and material in the industry.

Cover

The cover is made from polyester and rayon. I found the cover to be comfortable and pleasing to the touch.

First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)

My first impression was focused on the strong off-gassing. The product is certified to be free of toxic materials so I wasn’t worried about toxicity  but I should warn you that there is a strong odor when you first unbox the product. It quickly improved though and by the week mark, the smell was gone.

The sleeping surface is on the firmer side but I think it would still work for side sleepers. The support was also great. When I started my trial run, I had been dealing with some lower back pain. But after a few days, the pain was gone. Also, the product delivered on its claim to keep me cool throughout the entire night. At the end of my assessment, I was convinced that it’s one of the best in its price range.

Who Should Buy this Product?

Anyone who prefers a slightly firm sleeping surface will enjoy their nights with this product It’s also great for sleepers who prefer sleeping on their back or stomach. If you’re not a die hard innerspring  lover, I would highly recommend this product. There’s no risk because of the company’s great trial period and return policy.

Key Features

There were some features of this product that really stuck out during my trial run. First, while the sleeping surface is definitely classified as firm, it’s not overly firm. There’s still a soft and comfortable element to it. The bed slept cool and provided exceptional pressure relief. There’s no risk to conducting your own trial period, thanks to the 100-night trial and free return policy, so you can check out these features for yourself.

How Does It Compare?

Let’s take a look at some of the  competition:

Perfect Cloud UltraPlush Gel-Max 10-Inch Memory Foam

For the price, you can’t get much more luxurious than this. The product includes multiple layers of gel-max memory foam and perfectly conforms to every body shape for a great night’s sleep. These additional materials add up though, leading to a higher price than you’ll find in my report.

Brentwood Home Bamboo Gel Memory Foam

The Brentwood has almost 4” of gel memory foam which helps relieve pressure points and minimize motion transfer. The Bamboo cover is lined with natural New Zealand wool, which helps absorb moisture and regulate temperature.

Brentwood Home Bamboo Mattress

Cocoon by Seay Chill Firm Foam

This product will cost you a bit more than the the product I recommend but it includes high-density Perfect Fit Memory Foam. If you’re looking for a more traditional memory foam  this could be a better option for you. Check out the full Cocoon mattress review.

I wouldn’t suggest a product I don’t believe in. While these are all great options, my review that convinced me that simple is sometimes best. The price is right and the comfort level is just about perfect.

Verdict

At its price point, I can’t think of many other product that beats the product I trial tested. It left me impressed with the new company. The sleeping surface is on the firmer side so if you tend to sleep on your back or stomach, it’s definitely worth looking into conducting your own trial period in the near future.
