Spindle Mattress Review

Spindle Mattress Review

Welcome to Sleep Ask's Spindle mattress review. The Spindle mattress is an all-natural latex design sold online. The  company is based out of Boston and is proud to offer a quality bedding without the high markups department stores tend to tack on.

I invite you to read my report which will go over the different firmness levels you can choose from and explain in detail what materials are used in each supportive and comfortable layer I came across during my test run of this product.

Construction

Layers

LUCID 16 Inch Plush Memory Foam and Latex Mattress

During my trial period  I learned that the design consists of three layers. The design is about 10” thick and contains three 3” layers and a cover measuring 1” thick, which acts as a quilted layer on top. The 3” layers all contain natural ingredients, which was important to me.

The latex used in the product is OEKO-Tex 100 certified, which is a fancy label for saying that there are no harmful substances found in the materials. This was comforting to know. Keep in mind that these layers can be reassembled to give you a custom firmness level, a great selling point  and an important feature of any sleeping surface

Cover

The cover  is also made from natural materials. It’s a zipper cover, which you’ll need to place over the layers once you have them arranged the way you want. It’s made from wool and organic cotton and includes a quilted layer for added comfort. It is not washable though so take proper precautions to protect it.

First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)

  • Before my trial period of this product I had never slept on latex  before. Since then, I’ve slept on several but if you’ve never experienced a latex based sleeping surface, it’s a very unique feeling. My first night was spent trying to figure out how to describe what I was feeling. I had chosen the medium firmness  and while that seemed to be accurate, it took me a while to get used to the latex. At first, I felt like I was sinking too much. But then, the surface seemed to firm up and add more support. Latex is unique in the fact that it can act as both support and comfort.

Overall, I was happy with the level of firmness the company helped me choose and I found the product  to be just as comfortable  as models that cost twice as much. Though the feeling of support is unique, it still helped alleviate pressure points and kept me from tossing and turning all night.  If you’ve never slept on latex before, I encourage you to try a trial period. You might not realize what you’re missing out on!

Who Should Buy this Product?

If you want an all-natural product that you can customize based on your personal preferences and changing needs, this design could be perfect for you. Conduct your own assessment of the product to find out.

Key Features

One of the most attractive features I came across is that it’s made from natural materials. Also, you have the power to completely customize the firmness level of your sleeping surface by rearranging the layers as desired. Because the product is sold directly from the manufacturer, it’s also more affordable compared to similar models found in department stores. My favorite feature  was the unique feeling that latex offers.

How Does It Compare?

Eco Terra 11” Luxury Latex

You’ll pay a bit more for this product but it includes natural latex and fabric-encased coils. This gives the sleeping surface a little more bounce, which some users prefer. There’s no quicksand feel like you get with less than superior memory foam designs and there’s virtually no motion transfer.
