Our Thorough Sleep On Latex Review

Our Thorough Sleep On Latex Review

Do you worry about mattress toxicity? Some designs include materials that can emit toxic fumes, something you don’t want your sleeping surface to do. The developers at Sleep on Latex decided to solve this issue for sleepers by designing a green mattress that provides a comfortable and safe sleeping environment at a price that’s affordable.

Sleep Ask couldn’t wait to start test trial on this product and learn more about this revolutionary product. It was firm and supportive and while it did take a few days for my body to adjust the results were worth the wait. I hope you enjoy my report of on this product and that it helps you decide if this natural design is right for you and your family.

Construction

Layers of the Winkbed

This design is made from two layers, both which I inspected during my trial period. The top layer is made of 2” of soft material. This helps to relieve pressure points where memory foam can’t. The base layer is made up of 6” of base foam. This will provide you with a solid support base.

Cover of the Winkbed

I was really impressed with the top cover on my product.  It was quilted and made from New Zealand wool. At a full 1” thick, it was one of the thicker covers I’ve come across. The material is a natural fire barrier and because it’s mixed with cotton, you’ll experience a coolness you wouldn’t with just pure wool. This was a great bonus.

First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)

My first impression was that I couldn’t believe how heavy the product was. I would recommend having at least two people to move and set it up. When I first relaxed on the surface, I noted that it was firmer than expected but this was a positive feature for me. The design provided a bit of a bounce and while the material still seemed to hug my body, I didn’t have that sinking feeling you usually get with foam.

It's important to note that  you’ll be able to choose from three different firmness levels. If you’re on the fence between two firmness levels, I would recommend going with the firmer option. It’s easier to soften  with a topper than increase its firmness.

Firmness and support

I’ll admit that the first night  wasn’t the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had. But it takes about a week for your body to adjust to the material if you’ve never slept on it before. At the end of the first week , I was feeling refreshed and pain-free.

Key Features

The main feature  that stood out to me was the fact that it’s an all-natural design. It’s GreenGuard certified so there’s no worries about toxicity in the bedroom. The product is sewn, assembled, and packaged in the company’s Chicago-based factory. Quality control is one of their top priorities, along with customer satisfaction. The product is available in three different firmness levels for you to choose from.  It offers the comfort of memory foam and the bounce of an innerspring through natural foam.

Our Thorough Sleep On Latex Review

Sleep on latex mattress review

My WinkBed assessment left me a believer in hybrid designs. If you’re looking for the softness of foam but the bounce and support of an innerspring, the WinkBed is the perfect combination.

Pros

  • Non-toxic, all-natural
  • Naturally fire resistant
  • No offgasing
  • Perfect for couples
  • Free Returns

Cons

  • Should not be used by those with a foam allergy
  • Should not be compared to  memory foam

Who Should Buy this Product?

Based on my test trial I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an all-natural and eco-conscious design. If you love how memory foam feels but can’t stand the off-gassing or hazardous materials used, this product will give you all the features you want and none of the ones you want to avoid.

How Does It Compare?

Let’s take a look at some of the WinkBed competition:

Classic Brands 14 Inch Gramercy Hybrid Cool Gel Memory Foam and Innerspring

Here’s another hybrid design to consider. Its thick profile is composed of memory foam and an innerspring layer. It also includes cool gel to draw heat away from your body. Motion transfer is limited and it’s much more affordable than the WinkBed. But there’s no way to adjust the temperature.

Olee Sleep 13 Inch Box Top Hybrid Gel Infused Memory Foam Innerspring

Here’s an insanely affordable hybrid design with cooling gel. It includes plenty of soft memory foam that contours to your body along with an innerspring layer for support. Though its reviews are positive, it doesn’t have the high durability rating I appreciated during my testing of the WinkBed.

LUCID 16-Inch Plush Memory Foam

If you’re interested in a highly eco-friendly design, the LUCID is an ideal choice. It’s infused with bamboo charcoal and includes natural materials and CertiPUR-US certified foam. It comes with a 25-year warranty to protect your investment.

There are plenty of hybrid designs on the market. But none compare to the unique temperature regulation capabilities of the WinkBed.

Verdict

My conclusion of my WinkBed is that the product is substantial and one of the better bed in a box options on the market. The level of luxury in the design surpassed all my expectations. If you’ve been a loyal fan of foam  in the past, I urge you to test this product for yourself and see how much cooler you sleep and how it’s possible to enjoy the softness of foam without getting stuck. While the design isn’t perfect for everyone, I’m confident that your WinkBed assessment will, in many ways, be a positive experience. Check out our other mattress reviews.
