Signature Sleep Memoir 12″ Memory Foam Mattress Review

Signature Sleep Memoir 12″ Memory Foam Mattress Review

Since 1987, Dorel Industries has been designing and manufacturing mattresses that change how people sleep. Their Signature Sleep Memoir 12” Memory Foam Mattress has been one of their top sellers and I decided to give it a trial run. Below you’ll find my detailed assessment of this product which will hopefully help you decide if it’s the right design for you.

The brand is designed to provide balanced support for even the most mobile sleepers. The memory foam helps relieve pressure all over your body while the isolating qualities of the material let you sleep undisturbed. The product is shipped vacuum sealed for your convenience and it’s ready to sleep on the same day you receive it. If your current bed is giving you aches instead of relaxation, this product  should top your list of potential new sleeping surfaces.

A sleeping surface is only as good as the materials used to construct it and Dorel Industries has taken special care to make sure their product meets high expectations. The top layer consists of 3.5 inches of visco-elastic memory foam, designed to conform to your body and create a comfortable and relaxing sleeping environment. The bottom layer consists of 8.5 inches of high-density poly foam, the perfect material for even and strong support.

The cover is made from a soft knit fabric. A top  cover is recommended but not necessary.

Zinus Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea Mattress

First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)

The product came shipped to my door compressed and rolled up. It was easy to carry up the stairs to my bedroom. I had enough space to open it and allow it to self-inflate. It’s safe to sleep on the first night but I decided to give it a full 24 hours. The next night, I set it up and got ready for bed.

First, I sat on the edge of the bed. The sinkage was minimal. I felt supported but obviously, the farther I scooted back bed, the more supported I felt. As I lay back, I was surprised by how firm the surface felt, especially for a memory foam. This was a pleasant surprise. But because of the material, it was a comfortable firmness. It wasn’t rigid or stiff. I loved how the surface seemed to envelope my body. I drifted off to sleep much faster that night than I expected to,

The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed. I typically wake up a little sore and the pain subsides as the day goes by. But after a night lying on this product I felt better than I had in quite some time.

Who Should Buy this Product?

This design will work best for those looking for a firm sleeping surface that doesn’t include coils. It’s ideal for couples because of the almost non-existent motion transfer. The design is perfect for anyone struggling with mild to moderate hip, back, or neck pain. It’s also ideal for those looking for a memory foam  that doesn’t trap too much heat.

The design works on multiple surfaces, including box spring beds, bunk beds, platform beds, and daybeds. It’s ideal for any sleeping position and it’s safe for the entire family because of the use of CertiPUR-US certified foams. These materials are made without ozone depleters or toxic materials. How Does It Compare?

Let’s take a look at some of the competition:

Zinus Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea

The Zinus Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea  includes more materials, including 3.5 inches of Airflow High-density Foam to help keep the bed cool. It’s also infused with Green Tea to maintain product freshness. However, many have reported that the corners don’t fully inflate. Check out our full Zinus mattress review.

Best Price 12-Inch Memory Foam

This 12-Inch Memory Foam  by Best Price is ironically more expensive than the product I tested.  It does include a 10-year warranty but firmness can begin to dissipate in less than a year.

Zinus Sleep Master Ultima Comfort Memory Foam

Zinus is by far the biggest competitor. Here’s another design that offers three different types of foam for superior comfort and support. Some users have reported this product to be too hard and it’s more expensive than the one presented in this article. Check out the full Zinus mattress review.

Is the Signature Sleep Memoir 12″ Memory Foam Mattress for You?
