Ghostbed Mattress Review

Ghostbed Mattress Review

Welcome to my test trial of this product. This brand is manufactured by bedding professionals who have been in the industry for decades. If you’re looking for a trusted company with the success and expertise to back up their product, the makers of this product is a great place to start.

Based on my assessment their design is comfortable, supportive, and durable. It’s marketed for every type of sleeper and supports proper spinal alignment. The product is made in the USA by Nature’s Sleep. They use the finest quality materials, all with your comfort and health in mind.

Stick around.  I’ll be going over the construction of their product in detail and give you my honest first impression of my first night with the product By the end of my examination you should know if it’s the right design for you or not.

Construction

Layers

Classic Brands Cool Gel Jade Latex and Memory Foam Mattress

During my examination I discovered that the bed is made of three layers. The top layer is 1.5” thick and made from latex. This layer gives the product a little bounce and makes it easier to get in and out of. It also keeps the bed from sleeping hot. The second layer is 2” thick and made of gel memory foam. It provides great contouring support and also helps keep the bed cool.

The final layer  is 7.5” thick and made from core foam. This is the support base that makes this design so unique. While the top layers provide superior comfort, this final extra thick layer provides support for virtually any sleeper, something I noticed during my assessment of the product.

Cover

The cover  is made from vicose and polyester. I noticed that the cover is very soft. I was also happy to see that it easily zips off to make cleaning a breeze, which I had did as part of my critical report on the product.

First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)

I want to give you my honest opinion so I’ll tell you the truth. The first night on this design wasn’t the best. I tossed and turned, finding it difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position. The bed was very firm and not at all what I imagined. I almost gave up but once I read another user’s assessment, I realized I wasn’t alone. In fact, this firmness is normal at first. I decided to stick with it to give it a  proper go and I’m glad I did.

Within a couple weeks, the sleeping surface had completely changed. The firmness was a strong medium. I noticed that my spine seemed to be better aligned, no matter which position I slept in, and the support was perfect. I didn’t feel like I was sinking but I didn’t feel like the bed was pushing up on me either. My sleeping experience suddenly became a lot better.

Ghostbed Mattress Review

Based on Sleep Ask's assessment and others we've tried in the past, this model isn’t the cheapest on the market. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The high-quality materials used make a difference and I enjoyed the extra bounce the latex layer added. All in all, the product is an affordable and comfortable design that should be considered based on my experience of the product.

Pros

  • Absorbs motion
  • 101-night trial period
  • Minimal off-gassing
  • Financing options
  • Optional matching box spring

Cons

  • Hard at first
  • Not ideal for exclusive position sleepers

Who Should Buy this Product?

During my assessment of the product I learned that this product is marketed to all types of sleepers.  I also found that while I was able to get comfortable in almost any position, it works best if you’re a back sleeper. If you only sleep on your side or stomach, you might prefer something softer.

Key Features

One of the most important features I found is that the top layer of latex helps you avoid that “stuck” feeling that happens with so many foam designs. You’ll have to go through a week or two of an almost too firm sleeping surface but it’s worth it once you feel how comfortable the product can be. If you want to speed up this process, take off your shoes and walk on it for a bit each night. I did this during my trial period and it helped soften it.

How Does It Compare?

Let’s take a look at the  competition:

LUCID 10 Inch Latex Foam

This thick design includes latex and foam, providing a bit of bounce with super soft comfort. It’s also incredibly affordable. But it doesn’t have the same cooling technology as my favorite choice.

LUCID 10 Inch Latex Foam Mattress

Classic Brands Cool Gel Jade Latex and Memory Foam

The cover is woven with jade, a material that has natural cooling properties. It also includes gel-infused memory foam to regulate temperature. The latex foam helps add a little bounce that makes it easier to switch positions. However, it is imported.

Arctic Dreams 10” Cooling Gel

This product is made in the USA and includes cooling gel. It has just over 6” of support base foam and includes a 10-year warranty. But it doesn’t include latex, which makes a sleeping surface more comfortable and cool. Check out the full Arctic Dreams mattress review.

These are all superior options but if you want a latex and foam combination that cools and is made in the USA, my  report on the product that opened this article left me confident in my purchase and I recommend to most sleepers that they give it a try.

Verdict

Overall, I had a great experience while conducting my assessment. Once you get through the adjustment period, it’s a great sleeping surface. If you want a foam design that still has a little bounce and plenty of cooling capability, it’s time to start your own and I'm sure you will agree with me. Check out our other mattress reviews.
