Welcome to my Cocoon mattress review. Are you looking for a product that has a great reputation behind it? Then you should consider the Cocoon, a mattress in a box made by Sealy, one of the oldest bedding companies in the country. They’ve been making these products since 1881 and have the resources and experience to constantly reinvent their products and exceed a customer’s expectations.
I knew I had a special model as soon as my assessment of the product review began. It’s received rave reviews from consumers and even celebrities (Oprah) and my examination of the product left me singing its praises as well. Stick around to read my thorough report on this product to see if it lines up with your own expectations.
Construction of the Design
The construction of the design will slightly vary based on the firmness level you choose. Either way, your model will consist of two layers. The top layer is the comfort layer and is made of Perfect Fit Memory Foam. It cradles your body and relieves pressure points.
The bottom layer is the support layer and consists of Essential Support Foam. This foam is heavy and durable. For the Firm firmness option, Sealy uses a Reinforced Essential Support Foam and use Flexible Essential Support Foam for their Soft firmness option.
During your own assessment of this product you’ll come to appreciate the cover. It’s breathable and durable while providing a plush top layer. It’s stretch-knit construction ensures you won’t experience a “stuck-on” feeling.
First Impression & Overnight Test (Firmness, Feel, & Support)
I tried out both firmness options during my critical investigation of this product. I usually sleep on my back so I was immediately drawn to the firmer option. It let me feel like I was sleeping on top of my bed instead of sleeping inside it. The soft version is very plush and really provided a refreshing night’s sleep.
I stuck with the firm option but if you make the wrong decision, you can reach out to the company and request an exchange for the other firmness level. The company is dedicated to making sure your product is as enjoyable as possible.
Overall, I was impressed during my assessment of this product. For the price, I haven’t been able to find another design that offers firmness options and includes efficient cooling technology like this one.
Sinkage, Motion Transfer, & Temperature
Sinkage will vary based on the firmness level you choose for your Cocoon mattress review. You’ll sink more with the softer version than the firm. But the superior support won’t leave you stuck in your mattress.
The Cocoon is a foam mattress so motion transfer is virtually nonexistent. During my Cocoon mattress review, I was never woken up by my partner’s movements, which was a great surprise.
Your Cocoon mattress review will get much better once you experience their Chill feature. It absorbs body heat and makes your mattress cool to the touch. This was my favorite feature during my Cocoon mattress review since I usually sleep very warm.
Firmness and support
Your Cocoon mattress review will begin with you choosing between two firmness levels. If you want to feel the mattress hug your body, go with the soft option. If you want to feel like you’re resting on top of your mattress instead of in it during your cocoon mattress review, go with the firm. The support is great with either option.
One of the main features that encouraged me to write a report on this product was the Chill feature. The design includes Phase Change Material that keeps your product cooler than others. It works by absorbing your body heat and providing you with a sleeping surface that’s surprisingly cool to the touch. This is a favorite mentioned in more than one report on this product. Also, the product is available in two firmness levels for superior comfort.
How Does It Compare?
Let’s take a look at some of the competition:
These are all great options to consider when choosing a new product. But based on my examination, you won’t come across a design that offers firmness options, unique cooling technology, and pain eliminating support at such an affordable price as my favorite choice product.
If you love foam s but hate the heat retention that comes along with them, it’s time to try the design that started this report. Choose your firmness level and experience what it’s like to sleep on a luxurious sleeping surface without breaking the bank. Check out our other mattress reviews.
